Food Pantry
Johnson Church continually serves to provide for the needs of the hungry in Rowan County. Partnered with God's Pantry and with a very dedicated and faithful group of volunteers, Johnson's food pantry is able to help supplement food needs to individuals and families with limited resources. With a high level of poverty in its community, Johnson Church will continue to grow this ministry as needs are continuing to rise. If you would like to donate to this tremendous outreach or would like to volunteer, please contact our office at 606-784-8692 or email at fcog@johnsonchurch.org
Prince of Peace
Jesus' last words on earth commanded His disciples to "Go..." (Matthew 28:19-20). Also, we also find that scripture supports 'looking after orphans and widows" as that is the "purest form" of Christian ministry. Johnson Church has a deep history of missions that has ventured from the Central Americas to Alaska.
For the past several years, God has led Johnson Church to a place in Guatemala called Prince of Peace, an orphanage and school for girls of all ages. Like most of the Global South regions of the world, there is extreme poverty and little rights and hope for women and children, especially young girls. At Prince of Peace, we interact with the girls, engage in campus improvements, and venture out to some of the local villages to share the love of Jesus through prayer, evangelism, food, and new cook stoves...YES...cook stoves.
